Gustav Mahler

Rounding out our second cycle of all eleven symphonic creations of Gustav Mahler, we are proud to present the Eighth, one of the most monumental of all musical creations, using a gigantic orchestra, eight vocal soloists, two large choruses, a children’s chorus, an extra brass band and an organ. The grand first movement is a setting of a Latin hymn, while the hour-long second movement captures the final scene of Goethe’s Faust.
