  • Elgar: Cello Concerto
      with Jonah Kim, cello
  • Elfman: Theme from Batman
      with Kristin Link, conductor
  • Saint-Saëns: Symphony No. 3 (“Organ”)

Instead of the usual pre-concert talk by Maestro Kujawsky, we will offer a tribute to the late Don Buchla, a Bay Area electronic instrument pioneer. This 7 p.m. event will feature live performances and demos on some of Don's instruments, old and new.

Jonah Kim

Don Buchla

We're delighted to welcome back cellist Jonah Kim this season, after his unbelievable performance last year in Daugherty's Tales of Hemingway for Cello and Orchestra. Mahl/er/werk is a collage of Mahler fragments assembled by Nathaniel Stookey, known to Redwood audiences for his earlier work, The Composer is Dead. The concert ends with a glorious presentation of the Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony.
