Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, without intermission.

Another lively and eclectic collection for many tastes!

Superstar cellist Jonah Kim returns for his third RS appearance in Mason Bates’ kaleidoscopic, whirlwind of a Cello
Concerto
, surely destined to take a central place in the cello repertoire.

We open with Victor Herbert’s March of the Toys from his operetta, Babes in Toyland, a once-perennial on concert programs, then go to a work that might also awaken childhood memories.

Bach’s immortal Toccata and Fugue in D minor as orchestrated by Stokowski. (Do Micky Mouse and dancing hippos come to mind? Good!)

Finally, we’ll turn the evening into a rousing fiesta with
