  • Eric Kujawsky, conductor
  • Kyle Baldwin, conductor
  • Miranda Liu, violin
  • Aaron Copland Fanfare for the Common Man
  • Rain Worthington Shredding Glass

    Conducted by Kyle Baldwin

  • Dmitry Shostakovich Violin Concerto No. 1
  • Georges Bizet L’Arlésienne Suite
  • Maurice Ravel Bolero

We’re delighted to welcome back the brilliant Miranda Liu to play Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto, a seldom-heard masterpiece of the last century.

This edge-of-your-seat program sets the bar high with Copland’s iconic Fanfare, then harkens back to the fall of the Twin Towers in Worthington’s searing Shredding Glass.

We will finish out the concert with excerpts from L’Arlesienne Suite by Bizet, his most popular work before Carmen, followed by Maurice Ravel‘s most famous exercise in the art of the crescendo, Bolero.
