Oboist Peter Stahl is a founding member of Redwood Symphony. He has appeared as soloist with the orchestra in works by Barber, Copland, Daugherty, Sibelius, and Takemitsu. His teachers have included William Bennett, Julie Ann Giacobassi, Arnold Koblentz, and John De Lancie at the Aspen Music Festival. Peter studied composition with Fred Lerdahl, Tison Street, and Ivan Tcherepnin at Harvard, where he was associate principal glockenspiel in the marching band. During the hours he should be making reeds, he works as a user interface designer in Silicon Valley.
