If this is your first time attending a Redwood Symphony Concert, you may have some questions. If you don’t see the answer here, please contact us; we’ll be happy to help!
The concert venue should be listed wherever the concert information is posted.
Most of our concerts take place in the main theater on the scenic campus of Cañada College. For extra large and special productions, we may perform at San Mateo Performing Arts Center (SMPAC). For our summer outdoor concert, we perform in Courthouse Square, Redwood City.
We want you to be comfortable and to enjoy your event! For our subscription concerts, we recommend that you wear clothes that you would wear for a special evening out, but Redwood Symphony generally is a somewhat less formal group than is a traditional symphony orchestra, and there is not a strict dress code.
For the outdoor summer concert, casual and comfortable weather-appropriate clothes are recommended, along with sun protection if you will be arriving early to picnic.
Passenger Drop Off and Disabled Parking only in Lot 4 at the front entrance to the Main Theatre. Regular parking is available in Lot 1 and 2 above and behind the Main Theatre, or in lots 5 or 6 (below and in front of the Main Theatre).
If you are looking for a restaurant at which to dine before the concert, please note that Cañada College is not within easy walking distance of any restaurants. Woodside and Redwood City are the closest towns with dinner options.
We love to see children and families attend our concerts! The Halloween Concert is designed especially for children to enjoy with friends, parents, and grandparents, including attending in costume! Our Outdoor Summer Concert is unique opportunity for everyone and all ages to enjoy orchestral music in a festive and relaxed outdoor environment, picnics encouraged! For our other concerts, children are encouraged and welcome to attend (Redwood Symphony pioneered free admission for children and we continue to offer free admission for children under 18 with a paid general or senior admission). Our concerts usually last a couple of hours, so children should be comfortable remaining attentive for that length of time.
For most concerts, ticket holders are invited to Maestro Eric K’s enlightening pre-concert discussion of the music to be performed during the concert, including samples of the music.
