Anniversary Initiatives
In honor of Redwood Symphony’s 40th Season entitled 40 Years of Timeless Sound, we are excited to announce the launch of three new funds that will help us deepen our commitment to musical education and innovative programming in the community:
Ticket Subsidy Fund
Striking a chord for accessibility, ensuring marginalized communities can experience the transformative power of live symphonic music. With this fund, we hope to have an account that will support the cost of and transportation of 100-200 attendees per year.
Collaboration Fund
Orchestrating partnerships with local performing artists to foster inspiring onstage collaborations. The average cost to put on a large, collaborative performance is $2,000-$5,000 depending on the number of musicians, music rental costs and staging costs. With this new fund, we hope to have large collaborations every two years.
Commissioning Fund
Composing the future by commissioning compositions from local composers and bringing their innovative works to life. The average cost to commission a new orchestral piece is approximately $10,000. With the launch of this new commissioning fund, we hope to highlight one up and coming composer every 5 years.
