What city do you currently live in?
I live in Cupertino! It’s also the city whee I grew up, so I’m very much a Bay Area native.
How long have you played in the Redwood Symphony?
I joined Redwood Symphony in 2018, right after the April 2018 concert. I was so amazed at what I saw and heard at the concert that evening, and I emailed Eric K the very next day. He invited me to come try out at the next rehearsal and I’ve been playing with Redwood Symphony ever since!
When did you start playing?
I started violin at age 6 and was very fortunate to have a wonderful violin teacher from the very beginning. Fun fact: I still take lessons with her, almost 20 years and counting!
What other roles have you served for RS?
Aside from playing in the violin section, I’m also the video editor behind the Quarantunes series. It was a huge honor to take on the responsibility of keeping Redwood Symphony’s musical performances alive during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’m thrilled that everyone enjoyed watching our videos!
What do you do in your professional life (or what have you retired from)?
During the day, I’m a software engineer at Box, Inc. in downtown Redwood City (just a short drive away from Cañada College!)
