Béla Bartók's Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta, Sz. 106, BB 114 has found a niche in popular culture, its themes repeatedly quoted in films and popular music, including The Shining and Being John Malkovich.

Antonio Vivaldi's “Four Seasons” (Le quattro stagioni) is another perennial concert favorite from the Baroque era. Max Richter has selected portions of it for “recomposition” with a postmodern, minimalist sensibility.
