Monday, June 8, 2020: Summer concerts canceled
All of us miss you--and each other--very much indeed! We were very disappointed to cancel our two summer events, and hope to see you in the fall. We have very exciting (and often revised) plans for the 2020-2021 season, but want to be realistic.
We will not return until we, the state, county and Canada College all agree that it is safe to do so. Until that time, all of our plans are ephemeral and subject to change. Please watch for future email and social media updates, which could include not only programming and soloist modifications, but also changes in date and/or venue.
It's quite possible that we'll have to limit audiences to 100 people, eliminate snacks and beverages, move outdoors, or simulcast. Who knows? I'm hoping that this mix of uncertainty, gerry-rigging and last-minute guerrilla invention will result in something new, exciting and memorable. I also hope that you'll join us when it happens.
Until then, be well and safe.
All the best,
Eric K

Friday, March 24, 2020: June 6 concert canceled
As the COVID-19 crisis continues, we have also cancelled our June 6 concert. Please see information about our cancellation policy, below.
It's too soon to speculate about our scheduled concerts for June 27th and July 25th. Please check back for updates as those dates approach. We hope to resume our rehearsal and performance schedules just as soon as state and local health authority guidance allow it and we can be confident we will not be contributing to health risks for anyone associated with Redwood Symphony.
We are also considering how we might responsibly plan for a 2020-2021 season depending on various scenarios where the health crisis gets resolved.
With best wishes for your health and safety,
Maestro Eric K and Redwood Symphony's Board of Directors
Friday, March 13, 2020: April 18 concert canceled
Our concerns regarding our performance of the April 18th concert have grown exponentially over the past 24 hours. In an abundance of caution over recent public health concerns, and in light of stricter guidelines issued this week by Governor Newsom and San Mateo County Health Director Morrow to slow the spread of COVID-19, Redwood Symphony made the painful decision to cancel our next concert on April 18, 2020, and all rehearsals for this set in order to protect our musicians, volunteers and families.
We deeply regret the disappointment and frustration this causes our communities. While it's difficult to give up something we all hold dear, we are convinced this is the correct course to follow at this time.
Cancellation policy
Ticket holders for our cancelled concerts have the following options:
- Donate the tickets back to Redwood Symphony as a tax-deductible contribution.
- Apply the credit to a future concert, June 6th, 2020 or July 25th, 2020.
- Receive a full refund.
We will be reaching out proactively to ticket holders soon. If you have not heard from us by April 1st, please send us an email at: info@redwoodsymphony.org
Monday, March 9, 2020
The Redwood Symphony Board and Maestro Eric have been carefully monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak, especially the responses by the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, local community groups, subsequent performance cancellations, school closings, and business curtailments.
In the greatest concern for our members, and with extreme caution moving forward, we are consequently cancelling the March 11 and 18 rehearsals. We will reevaluate our position prior to the March 25 rehearsal based on information available at that time about proceeding with future rehearsals and the April 18 concert.

At this time, we are continuing with all performances as planned. However, we understand the situation is evolving, and performances may be postponed or cancelled as conditions change. Please check back here for updates.
